A Necessary Sin by Georgia Cates Release Day Blitz

Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, an organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge’s son Sinclair—until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She’s always known this undertaking would place her life in danger—she never imagined her heart would be as well.

EXCERPT:

Sinclair Breckenridge’s POV:

“I’m in the business of boundaries and limits. I’m aware of what mine are and how far I’m willing to go to get my job accomplished. It can include lying and sometimes stealing.” I wait a moment for driving the last nail into the coffin. “And perhaps the occasional killing.”
“How do you feel when you do those things?”
“Powerful.” I purposely choose that word because it’s the one she used to describe how she felt when she brought Duff to his knees. I want her to see just how similar we are.
She watches out the window for a minute before speaking again. “Do you like the way it feels?”
I can’t lie. I get a high from it. “Very much.”
Another minute passes. “Okay.”
What? “Just … okay?”
“Would you like me to be horrified?” she asks. “I can do that if it would make you feel better or improve your opinion of me.”
She’s no fucking Pollyanna. So I guess there’s no reason for her to pretend to be. “No. Okay works for me.”
I’m not sure if I should be disturbed by her lack of appall. It feels like a double standard to be shocked by an absence of dismay.
My God, has the pot met the kettle? “I wish I could get inside your head.”
“No, you don’t,” she says. “My mind is a dark place to be.”
I think I may have met the perfect woman. In her eyes, I’m not a monster at all.

Kim's Review
5 stars

Blue MacAllister’s life is filled with tragedy.  Her mother was murder and she was left for dead.  For years she has been consumed by bringing her mother’s killer to justice.  She and her adoptive father had a plan but time was running out for her father so they had to put their plan into action.  After years of training Blue is finally going to meet her mother’s killer face to face but will she be able to carry out her revenge or will she suffer the same fate her mother did?

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

Blue is a headstrong very determined woman who only focused in her life on getting revenge for her mother’s murder.  She told her father about her plan when she was a young teenager and everything she has done in her life has been for the purpose to carry out the plan.  Her father may not be happy about what his daughter is about to do but he won’t let her go in blindly either.  They spend their time together working in their plan but when her father is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Blue starts the plan to infiltrate The Fellowship and get close to Thane Breckenridge.

Sinclair Breckenridge is the oldest son of Thane and next in line to run The Fellowship.  He keeps everyone at a distance and let no woman see or have his heart.  He knows what is expected of him and that he is seen as a killer but that is the life he chooses and he isn’t ashamed of who he is.  He o best mates Jamie and Leith have always been there for him and they know all his secrets.

I loved Georgia’s Beauty series so when she had this one coming out I couldn’t pass it up and I wasn’t disappointed.  The chemistry between Blue and Sin hit me hard and I couldn’t get enough of them.  The fiery, no holds bar attitude that Blue has not only is refreshing.  She is a woman who can take care of herself and will do anything to get what she wants but she also has a heart too and wonders if she can excuse her plan.  Sin is used to getting what he wants but when Blue makes him work for it, he sees what he has been missing and wants more.  These two were made for each other but others disagree.  The twist and turns in the plot kept me guessing what was going to come next and who was to actual person that killed Blue’s mom.  Sin’s Uncle Abrams kept me wondering what he was really up to and why he did what he did.  Of course this is a trilogy so were left wanting to know what happens next.   I can hardly wait for the Next Sin to come out February 9th.  If you’re looking for a series with suspense, drama and lots of romance then look no further!!

Georgia resides in rural Mississippi with her wonderful husband, Jeff, and their two beautiful daughters. She spent fourteen years as a labor and delivery nurse before she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an author and hasn’t looked back yet.

When she’s not writing, she’s thinking about writing. When she’s being domestic, she’s listening to her iPod and visualizing scenes for her current work in progress. Every story coming from her always has a song to inspire it.
